Ladies of liberty Women's Division
The Ladies of Liberty is our Women's Division. This Organization is made up of Mothers , Daughters, Wives , and Girlfriends. The WKKK acts much like the Order of the Eastern Star in Masonry. Men are Masons and Women are Eastern Star. Traditionally Women were not allowed to become members of the KKK. It was restricted to Males. Women did help out in the background as non - members. The Women wanting to be more involved and on the front lines decided to apply for a Charter to begin their own group. In 1923 the WKKK was born.
Members of the WKKK are known as Klanswomen. The Ladies of Liberty is headed by the Imperial Commander and each State and Local Unit has Officers to help new members of the Order.
As with the KKK , the WKKK is a Christian based , Patriotic Organization. Membership into the WKKK is open to White Protestant Woman who are at least 18 years of age.
Activities that the Ladies of Liberty get involved in include but not limited to : Literature drives , fundraisers for various charities , bake sales , and educating our youth by overseeing the Youth Corp Program. Women the Klan also worked to reform public schools, doing so by distributing Bibles in schools.
